Before 1990s

DEMURE: Westchester ,NY Home Reno
DEMURE: quietly sedate , elegantly subdued yet playful and provocative (like the homeowners).
This “builders special” Home needed a much-talked-about facelift to reflect the homeowners elegant, yet fun ,contemporary life-style and add value in an oversaturated, competitive neighborhood market. It began with Master Bath and Kitchen update and transitions into Dining room, hallway, family room and more…
The main entry was painted in Alaska Fog- somewhere between taupe and grey. Upon entry- the transitional inspired chandelier added that w-o-w factor. A new carpet covered the much utilized stair.
Transitioning into a complimentary color…the dining room chair rail was removed and the red/gold paint was primed many times over so that the new grey paint reflected its true color depth .
Retro-fitting the kitchen proved challenging as the beginning pallette was the gold/black countertop which they insisted on keeping.
The family room fireplace was dressed with a ledger stone which complimented the softer paint on the walls and added structure to appear formidable!
The master bath was adapted with quartzite .
